John H. Peloza, M.D.

Internationally recognized, Board Certified Orthopedic spine surgeon, John H. Peloza, M.D., has been on the true forefront of spine medicine since 1996, by being a pioneer of true minimally invasive surgical technologies and by utilizing comparative effectiveness research. Dr. Peloza collects clinical research data on all treatments and procedures, and therefore can diagnose and offer patients options based on this research. For the over two decades Dr. Peloza has proudly been on the forefront of MIS treatment techniques that typically lead to quicker recovery and return to function for patients.  

Dr. Peloza has given several presentations at medical conferences and scientific meetings on topics that include minimally invasive surgery, scoliosis correction, and lumbar fusion. He has written articles published in medical journals, such as The Spine Journal and Orthopedics Today, and has contributed numerous chapters to medical textbooks. His medical expertise has been quoted in The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. A developer in minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Peloza has helped launch several minimally invasive technologies and serves as an investigator on many nationwide clinical research trials regarding the spine. He has been selected as a “Best Doctors In America”, a “Top Surgeon” by the Consumers’ Research Council of America each year, one of the “50 Best Spine Specialists in America,” a Texas “Super Doctor”, and has consistently been voted as one of the “Best Doctors in Dallas” and “Best Doctors in Collin County” by D Magazine.  

Dr. Peloza is known throughout the industry as one of the leaders in minimally invasive spine surgery and is an advocate for the expansion of treatments like artificial disc replacement. Dr. Peloza graduated from the Northwestern University School of Medicine with honors, followed by a general surgery internship and orthopaedic residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He then completed his sports medicine fellowship with Dr. Steadman, followed by a spine fellowship under internationally recognized spine surgeon Dr. David Selby. Dr. Peloza has been honored to have patients come from all over the country and the world to receive treatment at his practice.
